Samsung has acknowledged a noticeable reddish tint affecting some Galaxy S26 Ultra displays and says the fix will come through software, not a panel replacement.

According to the report, the tint is most visible at maximum brightness and under direct external light. Early complaints appeared on forums and Reddit, where users linked the behavior to the Privacy Display feature, which relies on the flagship’s hardware capabilities.

Samsung says the problem is not caused by burn-in, panel degradation, or any physical defect. Instead, the company attributes it to a flawed system optimization that alters color reproduction at peak brightness and in strong ambient light. In other words, the issue appears to stem from calibration algorithms, not the display hardware itself.

A software update is now in the works to adjust that calibration and remove the red cast without a trip to a service center. Until the patch arrives, users are advised to try changing the screen mode, adjusting the white balance, or simply lowering brightness a little.

If Samsung’s diagnosis holds, this is an annoying display issue, but not one that points to an expensive hardware repair.
